Who is Franck Kessie?

24-year-old Ivorian Franck Kessie plays in the middle of the park for AC Milan.

Signed from Atalanta in 2017 on a loan two year loan with obligation to buy, he has become an indispensable member of the Milan starting lineup.

Noted for his ability to win the ball back and use it well, he is a top all round midfielder.

He is also an adept penalty taker, Kessie scored nine times from the spot last season.

The Reds are hopefully shopping for a midfielder.

Consequently plenty of Kopites have been crying out for a replacement.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Liverpool are targeting Franck Kessie.

The outlet has mentioned the Reds’ interest in a report claiming the Ivorian has rejected a new deal with AC Milan.

The midfielder’s current deal expires next summer, meaning he can negotiate a free transfer from January.

As such the Reds are believed to be one of the clubs interested in snapping him when his contract expires.

Corriere Dello Sport has previously claimed that Liverpool have promised Kessie a £5m-a-year contract for next summer.
