Liverpool could be forced to sell Mo Salah amid contract demand claims

Liverpool could have a big problem on their hands. The Reds have spent most of the summer tying down key players to long term contract. We’ve sorted out pretty much every extension we needed to. Apart from one. Liverpool could be forced to sell Mo Salah amid claims he wants £500k-a-week.

Summer contract spree

During the transfer window Kopites were clamouring for additions.

Fans wanted a midfielder and a forward signed due to the departure of Gini Wijnaldum and the lack of a natural striker.

We only signed Ibrahima Konate, a bright addition nonetheless.

Instead Liverpool tied a number of players to long term extensions.

Alisson Becker has signed on until 2027.

Meanwhile Fabinho and Andy Robertson have agreed deals until 2026.

Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips have all agreed contracts until 2025.

Mo Salah contract wage demands

All eyes are now on the Egyptian King.

The Reds have managed to get pretty much all of the core of the squad tied down, it’s now on to our record breaking goal scorer.

According to The Mirror Mo Salah has wage demands for his new contract which would also make him a record breaker in another sense.

The outlet has claimed the winger wants £500k-a-week to renew his deal at Anfield.

What RTK has to say

Nope.

This isn’t Liverpool. We aren’t going to pay anybody £500k-a-week.

If Mo Salah indeed wants that kind of money then we will have to sell him in the summer, even in January if we can get an adequate replacement in.

Otherwise the option is let him leave on a free transfer and that would be an incredible waste.

Either way, we can’t be splashing £500k-a-week on anybody in our first team given how bloated the wage budget already is.
