Liverpool haven’t done much business in the transfer market this summer. The Reds are in need of a forward and a midfielder. Despite these needs the club has done good business in terms of renewals. Liverpool fans are delighted Jordan Henderson has signed a new contract.
Liverpool contract spree
This summer has been spent securing the squad.
Liverpool have been tying key players down to long term contracts in order to keep the core of the title winning side together for the foreseeable future.
Alisson Becker has committed to the longest deal with the Brazilian agreeing a contract until 2027.
Meanwhile Fabinho has penned a contract which runs until 2026, as has the Flying Scotsman Andy Robertson.
In addition Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk have agreed extensions until 2025.
Jordan Henderson signs new contract
Transfer deadline day is meant to see sparks fly in terms of ins and outs.
Whilst we aren’t expecting much of that business from the Reds we do still have something to celebrate.
Jordan Henderson has agreed a new contract with Liverpool which runs until 2025.
The skipper’s future was previously up in the air when reports emerged of an impasse in talks.
Atletico Madrid and PSG were thought to be potential suitors if an agreement couldn’t be reached.
Twitter reacts to announcement
Plenty of Kopites are delighted with the news. However, the more cynical amongst us are wondering why the Reds thought announcing the deal on deadline day would make up for the unambitious lack of movement in the transfer market this summer.
