Liverpool have a number of top talents coming through the academy at the moment. The Reds have local lads impressing as well as youngsters brought in from further afield. Some have headed out on loan for vital first team experience. This weekend Sepp van den Berg scored again for Preston North End, netting a goal against Swansea City.
Liverpool youngsters to watch
It is an exciting time for the Liverpool youth.
The Reds boast a number of players who are threatening to become top, top players.
Obviously there is Harvey Elliott, the 18-year-old wonderkid making a difference in Premier League games.
There is also Kaide Gordon, the 16-year-old making waves in the academy following his switch from Derby County.
On loan we have Sepp van den Berg, the record breaking Dutch defender who is becoming an integral part of the set up at Preston North End.
Fans should also keep an eye on Leighton Clarkson at Blackburn Rovers.
Sepp van den Berg goal v Swansea City
This weekend saw Sepp van den Berg score his side’s equalising goal against Swansea City.
The Dutchman’s first half effort was his second strike this week with the on loan defender having struck against Morecambe in the EFL Cup.
The Sepp van den Berg goal against Swansea was another matter entirely.
Whilst against Morecambe he netted a tap in, this weekend he really impressed.
The youngster controlled the ball well, turned his defender and fired into the bottom corner. It was properly impressive stuff.
Preston went on to win the game 3-1 following Sepp’s equaliser.
What RTK has to say
Who would’ve thought it? Two goals in two games.
After his performance against Morecambe he was being referred to as the Ginger Maldini, now we’re going to start believing the hype.
Though, we don’t think even Maldini pulled off what Van den Berg did against Swansea.
We’re made up for the young lad, hopefully he keeps shining in the Championship and he plays himself into Jürgen Klopp’s plans.
