A second report claims Kaide Gordon should soon debut for Liverpool. The Reds appear to rate the teenager very highly.
This comes from the Liverpool Echo. They claim that Kaide Gordon should make his Liverpool debut this season.
In fact, it may come next month. Gordon is in line to play cup games after Xherdan Shaqiri joined Lyon and the Reds kick-off their League Cup campaign in September.
That means the 16-year-old isn’t far off his Liverpool debut.
The Echo isn’t the only one claiming this, either. James Pearce of the Athletic said similar this week and that Gordon is on the cusp of a first-team role.
Kaide Gordon to debut soon
This won’t come as a great surprise to many. Gordon was an absolute standout across pre-season and looks very close to first-team-ready.
Trent Alexander-Arnold talked him up this month, in fact, in an interview with the Athletic.
“Kaide has so much potential; it’s frightening, really,” he said, while saying he wants to help mentor the teenager.
Throw in claims that he’s seriously impressed teammates and staff in pre-season and it’s easy to see why Liverpool might fast-track the youngster. Gordon really does appear to be a very special talent.
We said a few weeks ago that Shaqiri’s exit may leave a path for Gordon. We’re thrilled to hear that is the case as we’re incredibly excited about the winger.
There’s just so much potential here. Not just in Gordon on his own, either, but in the long-term future of Liverpool’s first-team.
Everyone can see how an Alexander-Arnold, Harvey Elliott, & Gordon right-flank could work for a very, very long time. It has the potential to be a real jewel for Liverpool – and we might just see it next month.
