Liverpool are in need of a striker. The Reds are currently short on numbers and quality through the middle of the attack. At the moment it looks as though there’ll be no resolution this summer. We can still get excited about next year, though. Twitter has reacted to Michael Rummenigge tipping Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland.
Out and out finisher needed
At the moment the Reds have four players covering three positions.
That simply isn’t enough for a side hoping to compete on a number of fronts this season.
Not only are we short on numbers but we don’t have a natural number nine in the side.
Roberto Firmino is a converted attacking midfielder being used as a false nine.
We saw last year that Bobby’s approach doesn’t always work and we could do with upgrading to a world class lethal finisher.
Michael Rummenigge tips Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland
The Reds could turn to the Bundesliga to solve their problems.
Dortmund icon Michael Rummenigge has tipped Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland next summer.
When asked by Sport1 if the Norwegian will dominate football with Kylian Mbappe in the coming years the ex-pro replied:
“Yes. They [Haaland and Mbappé] could get there. We’ll have to wait and see where he goes after this season.
“Real and Barca have financial problems so I could imagine him moving to England. His father used to play there too. I could well imagine Liverpool for Haaland.”
Fans are dreaming of the move though plenty are tired of false hope.
