Liverpool are blessed with an abundance of young talents at the moment. The academy is bursting at the seams with teenagers waiting to break into the senior setup. According to Trent Alexander-Arnold this season could see Harvey Elliott establish himself in the first team.
The Reds have plenty of youngsters to be getting excited about.
In the past few years the club have brought in a number of wonderkids from all over the world.
Last summer saw Mateusz Musialowski arrive from SMS Lodz, his first season was incredible and he’s already been dubbed the ‘Polish Messi’ by senior players.
Kaide Gordon signed in January and despite being just 16-years-old he featured heavily in Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies.
Alexander-Arnold on Harvey Elliott
One of our most exciting teenagers signed in the wake of the Reds’ Champions League win in Madrid.
He’s coming on leaps and bounds, to the extent that Trent Alexander-Arnold believes Harvey Elliott could be a regular in the first team this term. The Scouser told The Athletic:
“Kaide has so much potential; it’s frightening, really. Same with Harvey. Going out last season and getting experience (seven goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances on loan to Blackburn Rovers of the Championship) has been good for him.
“Hopefully this season he’ll get some more minutes under his belt and try and establish himself as part of the first-team set-up.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool fans have been crying out for signings but when Elliott is impressing to this level we may be just fine.
The 18-year-old is allegedly set to take Xherdan Shaqiri’s place in the senior setup.
With the backing of the first team stars around him he could go on to be something special.
This is going to be an exciting year for the young lad.
