Liverpool have plenty of talent in the academy. The Reds have been hoovering up some of the brightest youngsters in the world in recent seasons. One of our recent academy additions has caught the eye in pre-season. Trent Alexander-Arnold has hailed Kaide Gordon for his ‘frightening’ potential.
Kaide Gordon talent
Liverpool signed Kaide Gordon from Derby County in January.
The 16-year-old had recently been handed his senior debut by Wayne Rooney, appearing as a substitute against Birmingham City.
Since joining the Reds he has been a standout performer for the U18s, forming a deadly attack alongside the likes of Mateusz Musialowski and James Balagizi.
Gordon went on to make his U23s debut in the side’s final game of the season, scoring after coming on as a substitute.
Trent Alexander-Arnold on Kaide Gordon
The youngster was part of the Reds’ pre-season camp.
Even when the staff sent a host of youngsters back to Merseyside we saw the 16-year-old kept with the senior squad.
The ex-Derby wonderkid impressed in a number of friendlies and he’s certainly made an impression on the Scouser in our team. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been full of praise for Kaide Gordon, telling The Athletic:
“I’ve wanted to be with them (Elliott and Gordon) like Hendo was with me — a mentor…
“Kaide has so much potential; it’s frightening, really.”
What RTK has to say
It’s no surprise that senior stars are taking notice of our young talents.
They seem to be getting younger all the time these wonderkids.
Kaide Gordon was incredibly impressive throughout pre-season, we could well see him lining up alongside Trent in the next few years.
Until then it’s on the Scouser to keep mentoring the young talent.
