"There might": Klopp delivers transfer update to Liverpool fans

Jurgen Klopp has delivered a transfer update to Liverpool fans in the wake of the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Athletic Club in pre-season today.

The Reds have so far only added Ibrahima Konate to the squad that came third in the Premier League last season.

Certain fans have been crying out for more new additions, however.

Centre-midfield and up front are two positions that many feel Liverpool need to upgrade in.

Reports suggest that the club are trying to sign players for the positions, but nothing has materialised up to now.

Now, Klopp has confirmed that the club may still bring new men in before the window closes.

Speaking in a press conference, the manager said: “I am very happy with the squad but it doesn’t mean that we don’t look at the market.

“As long as nothing happens, I am more than happy with the squad I have. We have many things that you can’t sign. You can’t sign pressing, you can’t sign counter-pressing, you cannot sign atmosphere, you can’t sign Anfield…

“There are different approaches out there but we have no influence on that.”

Klopp continued: “We have a big squad. There might still something happen before the end of the transfer window but I can’t say anything about that at the moment.”

As ever, the German boss has not revealed all that much.

But for us, what he did say is enough to excite.

If Liverpool had no intention of signing anyone else this summer, Klopp would have said that.

So, we are confident that we could see another new face or two in the door soon enough.

Klopp’s words remind us of what we saw last summer.

Much like this year, fans were getting frustrated with Liverpool’s lack of activity as the Premier League season got underway.

But then, almost out of nowhere, Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota were brought through the door.

We reckon that we could see something similar in the next few weeks.

It looks like Klopp and Michael Edwards have something up their sleeves.
