Liverpool are ones for a bargain. Over the years we’ve seen Michael Edwards pull off some downright ridiculous deals, last year’s buy of Thiago being his magnum opus. We could see a similar masterstroke in the near future, Liverpool are reportedly well aware of the Joshua Kimmich contract situation.
One of the best
There’s no denying that Joshua Kimmich is one of the best players in the world, if not the best (all rounder).
The German broke through as a right back but has since been deployed in a number of roles.
Bayern Munich have used the 26-year-old as a centre back, holding midfielder, defensive midfielder and on the right of the midfield.
His versatility speaks to his outstanding ability, he is a man who truly can do it all.
Furthermore he has the achievements to back his ability, he boasts an embarrassment of Bundesliga titles, a Champions League win and he was named in last year’s FIFPRO World XI.
Liverpool and Joshua Kimmich
This summer sees the German enter the final two years of his deal at Bayern Munich.
“Liverpool is aware of the contract situation of [Joshua] Kimmich.”
This remark may be innocuous but can be read in reference to the Thiago deal.
If the German doesn’t sign a new deal by next summer then we could be back in the same spot.
Liverpool would be able to negotiate a bargain fee for Joshua Kimmich if he is looking like running down his deal, just like we did with Thiago.
This would surely be our signing of the decade.
Kimmich will be 27-years-old next summer, poised to enter his prime. Given what we’ve seen from him so far, his prime could be unplayable.
The Bayern star would be a dream signing for any side, fingers crossed Thiago can have a word and Michael Edwards can keep his ear to the ground.
