Liverpool are in desperate need of a striker. Sure, we have one of the best attacking lines in world football but we have no depth, no competition. Ideal Liverpool striker Lautaro Martinez is reportedly available for £76m, Michael Edwards has to act.
Liverpool need a striker
This summer Kopites are hoping for reinforcements for the attacking line.
At the moment there is pretty much no cover or competition in the attack.
Diogo Jota was brought in to shake things up but we’ve often seen him operate alongside the existing trio.
What we need is a world class striker, a lethal finisher, to come in and compete with Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian’s goal return isn’t enough for a central striker in a title winning side, last term he netted just nine. Whilst goals aren’t his game, we need more than nine from him. We need to alleviate the burden on Mo Salah’s shoulders.
Lautaro Martinez price set
This summer will likely see further high profile departures from Inter Milan following the sale of Achraf Hakimi.
The Serie A side are believed to be looking to balance the books ahead of their title defence.
The side’s diminutive Argentine striker could be up for sale.
According to Tuttosport, Lautaro Martinez is available for around £76m.
Atletico Madrid are said to be in pole position to sign the forward with Arsenal also chasing.
Liverpool should move for Lautaro Martinez
Firstly, Inter will have to reduce that price.
Given that they are reportedly looking to raise funds they won’t be able to command a fee of £76m.
Liverpool signing Lautaro Martinez would be the ideal move.
Last term he netted 17 goals and assisted six as his side won the Scudetto.
Adept at bringing in his teammates into play and finishing off moves himself, he would bring what Roberto Firmino brings and more.
At just 23-years-old he has plenty of time to improve and learn from Bobby.
The Argentine striker is made for Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool – 90Min previously claimed we’ve asked for updates on his situation – if he’s available this summer then we need to be in the conversation.
