Liverpool are expected to move for a midfielder this summer and there’s plenty of possibilities out there. The French Ligue 1 could provide easy pickings due to the division’s financial crisis. According to L’Equipe, Liverpool want to sign Renato Sanches in a £30m deal and it’d be a surprise if he stayed.
Liverpool’s midfield problem
Jürgen Klopp is facing a conundrum at the moment.
Does he stick or twist when it comes to his midfield?
On paper there is depth in the squad, however, some of that depth is paper thin because of concerning injury records.
Our one truly reliable midfielder, Gini Wijnaldum, has left the club on a free transfer.
Naby Keita has the quality to replace the Dutchman but the Guinean’s injury history means we can’t expect him to play a full season.
Jürgen Klopp needs to decide whether to gamble on fitness or bring in an extra body.
Liverpool want Renato Sanches
The Reds seem to be hard at work this summer, Michael Edwards has been linked with everybody.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool want Renato Sanches.
The French outlet has listed the Reds as one of a number of clubs interested in the 23-year-old. Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all credited with interest.
However, the Spanish side’s capabilities are in question due to their ongoing accounting crisis.
Sanches would be available for around £30m. It would allegedly be a surprise to see him play out another at Lille due to the urgent need to raise funds in France.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Sanches for £30m could prove a bargain in the long term.
The Portugal midfielder is still just 23-years-old and is full of promise.
A one time European Golden Boy he’s nowhere near his peak and that peak could be massive.
Under Jürgen Klopp’s tutelage we could see him fulfil his almighty potential, fingers crossed this interest is serious.
