Liverpool fans are crying out for a midfielder to be signed. The loss of Gini Wijnaldum could be felt sharply if we don’t replace him this summer. According to a report in Italy, Liverpool may have made a mega-bid for Manuel Locatelli.
Who is Manuel Locatelli?
This summer saw Manuel Locatelli’s stock shoot right up.
The Sassuolo centre midfielder had a blinder of a tournament at Euro 2020.
The Italian star was a standout performer as the Azzurri clinched the trophy on penalties.
Locatelli scored twice at the tournament with one goal seeing him sweep a pass out to the wing before finishing the move himself following a lung busting run into the box.
A terrific all round midfielder, the 23-year-old can win the ball back and use it well, noted both for his passing and dribbling ability.
Liverpool submit mega-offer for Manuel Locatelli
There is thought to be plenty of interest in the Italian midfielder.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport Arsenal are keen on the Sassuolo star.
The same report has claimed that a ‘mega-offer’ has been made by a Premier League sign and all signs point towards Liverpool having bid for Manuel Locatelli.
Meanwhile, Juventus are believed to be intent on keeping the talented youngster in the Serie A.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Manuel Locatelli would be incredibly exciting.
The Italian is just at the start of his career, he has a decade ahead of him.
Of course, getting overhyped by an international tournament is a cliche at this point but he did look the business.
Given our desperate need for reinforcements in the middle signing a player as dynamic as Locatelli could be just what we need.
