Kaide Gordon wows Liverpool players, staff – could a senior role be next?

Kaide Gordon has impressed the senior Liverpool players, according to reports. He’s a teenager with an enormous future.

This comes from the Athletic. They say both staff and players at Liverpool are ‘massively impressed’ with Kaide Gordon.

They’re not the only ones, either. Fans were seriously into Gordon after his display in Liverpool’s first friendly.

The 16-year-old is currently with the first-team on pre-season and he was always going to be one to watch. Gordon arrived at Liverpool with huge hype, after all, having already made a senior debut for Derby County.

And that carried over into the youth teams. Gordon did take a little time to get going but by the end of the season, the teenager was scoring regularly and tearing teams apart at Under 18 level.

That earned him a first appearance for the Under 23s – on which he scored.

Gordon, then, is a player on the rise and it sounds as though the big names at Liverpool see that. So we can pretty confidently say that a first-team appearance is on its way.

Could that happen next season, though?

Kaide Gordon impresses Liverpool players

We already had some belief that Gordon would step into a first-team game over the next 12 months. His rise just continues at a rapid pace and looks set to continue.

So hearing that the players themselves, let alone the coaching staff, are ‘massively impressed’ in Gordon only boosts that belief. After all, they come across a lot of young players, particularly in pre-season.

Gordon is standing out, though, and that says a lot.

We won’t see him right from the start in Premier League games, of course, and the teenager will almost certainly continue in the U23s next year. But League Cup games? FA Cup games? There will be chances for Gordon to prove himself further.

And he if continues to take chances at the rate he has, there’s no reason Gordon can’t quickly become a full-time member of the senior side before we know it.
