4 Liverpool players who could reportedly leave in August

Four Liverpool players could leave Liverpool in August, according to reports. The Reds hope to bring in over £40m for the quartet.

This comes from the Liverpool Echo. They claim four players are on the list to leave Liverpool in August.

Now, that’s not to say that Liverpool are actively seeking bids for all four. Instead, they’re the quartet that the Reds are currently open to selling.

The most likely departure is Xherdan Shaqiri. Liverpool would want around £15m for him, says the report, and teams are interested. The Swiss is looking to leave, making this one an almost guarantee.

Then comes Neco Williams. He’s an interesting one – the Athletic mentioned last month that he’d like to leave.

The reasoning makes sense, too, as Williams allegedly doesn’t see a long-term future with Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him. Much like the Echo, the Athletic mentions a £10m fee.

Nat Phillips is in a similar situation, too. There are several elite talents ahead of him in the pecking order, surely preventing a long-term future.

Liverpool could accept £15m for him, then, and teams are interested. But there’s also no indication that Phillips actually wants to leave and Jurgen Klopp is happy to keep him.

Until either of those last two things change, Phillips is staying.

Last but not least, there’s Divock Origi. Liverpool ‘would be willing to listen to offers’, say the Echo. But so far, there hasn’t been anything. Origi certainly can’t move on if there aren’t any takers – we’ll see if that changes over the next 30 days.

All in all, then, Liverpool are easily looking at over £40m for the four of them. Add that to the £30m they’ve already brought in and the Reds could have £70m in the bank.
