Just how much money has Liverpool made this summer? The Reds have sold five players already.
Liverpool went into this transfer window with a clear priority – centre-back. They brought in Ibrahima Konate to fix their problems but after that, they were in a tough spot.
The Athletic claims they’ve had to sell players in order to further improve their squad. Fortunately, they’re finding ways to do just that.
Liverpool have now sold five players on permanent deals, bringing in a chunk of money. But just how much have they made?
Liverpool bring in the money
Liverpool completed a major sale on Saturday as Harry Wilson joined Fulham. It brings in £12m for a player who has never really had a fair shot at Anfield.
This comes after Liverpool sold Marko Grujic in the week to FC Porto. While there’s some confusion over the actual deal, it’s clear the Reds will get £10.5m for the Serbian.
Liverpool also sold Taiwo Awoniyi to Union Berlin on the same day. He never actually played a game for the club, having only gotten his work permit this summer.
Still, Liverpool secured £6.5m for the forward.
Then come two minor transfers. Kamil Grabara left Liverpool to join FC Kobenhavn. That nets £3m.

Canadian forward Liam Millar leaves, too, bringing in £1.3m with his move to FC Basel.
So altogether, Liverpool have made around £33.3m in player sales this summer. That’s a fantastic figure, all things considered.
It goes a long way to covering the cost of Konate (£35m) and every player who’s left wasn’t with Liverpool last season. There’s really no better way to fund transfers – moving on players who aren’t contributing to the first team.
We’re not yet sure what Liverpool plan to do with this money, of course. Though, we have some ideas.
