The Liverpool academy has proven to be a vital source of funds and stars over the years. We’ve seen a number of players come through to take the world by storm whilst others have netted us tidy profits. One graduate is now the best right back in the world. Pep Lijnders has heaped praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool academy stars
The past few years have seen two youngsters break through into the first team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold burst onto the scene ousting Nathaniel Clyne from the right back role.
The Scouser became the youngest player ever to appear in back to back Champions League finals.
Since then Curtis Jones has established himself as a regular in the Reds’ midfield, last season the youngster made 24 Premier League appearances for Jürgen Klopp.
Meanwhile Neco Williams has been afforded sporadic opportunities but his minutes have been limited by the world class performer ahead of him.
Pep Lijnders on Trent Alexander-Arnold
The Scouser in our team, the best right back in the world, has come in for some praise from our assistant manager.
Pep Lijnders has been waxing lyrical about Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Dutch coach wrote in his pre-season diary:
“I’m so proud of Trent. He was this natural technical talent when he was just 15 years old. He had all the characteristics I loved: a mentality to win, passionate to improve but his emotions sometimes took control instead of him taking control over the emotions. He trained with so much power and competition.”
What RTK has to say
He is a generational talent.
It’s no wonder that at just 15-years-old people knew what he was about, what he could go on to achieve.
The Scouser is still just 22-years-old, he has his whole career ahead of him.
He will surely retire as one of the greatest England has ever seen, we’re lucky to have him.
