Jordan Henderson showed off his incredible work ethic as he trains at Real Mallorca while on holiday. The Liverpool captain posted a video of his efforts to Twitter.

Jordan Henderson is currently on holiday – yet he trains as hard as anyone. The 30-year-old gets an extended break away from the Reds after Euro 2020 and he isn’t set to link back up for while.

But he’s not really taking the time off. He proved that with a Twitter video on Saturday that showed him training at Real Mallorca’s facilities.

“Love the heat,” Henderson wrote as he’s seen working through a number of fitness drills on his own.

No one would ever doubt Henderson’s work ethic but this is a wonderful example of it. The captain is determined to be ready for the new season and isn’t giving himself time off.

In fact, he’s gone out of his way to find proper facilities while in Spain. It’s fantastic to see – but you wouldn’t expect anything else from Henderson.

Fitness-wise, he is in a strange position. Henderson didn’t play between February and May after abductor surgery. He then spent Euro 2020 playing from the bench with limited minutes.

The skipper hasn’t actually played a full 90 minutes since February, then. It’s hard to know what effect that’ll have.

On the one hand, he could be severely lacking in match fitness. It’s no wonder he’s trying hard to get into his best shape if that is the case.

But it’s also possible that Henderson is as fresh as they come. He kept up his fitness with England, of course, even if he wasn’t playing. But it’s all been ‘light’ work since February – and maybe that helps.

Again, it’s hard to know exactly how he’ll be once the season starts. What is clear, though, is that Henderson will do everything he can to be at his best.
