Liverpool are going to have to move some players on this summer. The Reds are in need of reinforcements and we can’t buy until we raise some money. According to a report in The Mail, Sheffield United are interested in Ben Davies.
Liverpool centre back roster
Last season the Reds lost every single senior centre back to injury.
Virgil van Dijk was the first to go after he was lunged at by Jordan Pickford in October.
Shortly afterwards Joe Gomez suffered the same prognosis after picking up a freak injury in England training.
Meanwhile Joel Matip was in and out of the side until his own season-ender in January.
The Reds responded by loaning Ozan Kabak and buying Ben Davies.
The former has since been sent back to Germany and the latter is yet to make a competitive appearance.
Furthermore, we’ve seen the arrival of Ibrahima Konate as a response to last season’s problems.
Sheffield United want Ben Davies
This summer could see the Reds cash in on their February signing.
Michael Edwards paid just £1.6m for the defender.
According to The Mail, Sheffield United are weighing up a move for Ben Davies.
The Blades are currently preparing for life in the Championship after a dismal campaign last term saw the Sheffield side relegated.
What RTK has to say
This seems inevitable.
It may not be Sheffield United but someone will buy Davies soon.
His arrival appears to have been a money spinning exercise.
The Reds can make a quick profit by selling him this summer, he was soon to be out of contract at Preston hence why we bagged him cheap.
Sheffield United gave us a hefty sum for Rhian Brewster, maybe it’s time to shake them down again.
