We’re expecting Liverpool to move for a centre midfielder this summer. The loss of Gini Wijnaldum has left us short staffed at the back. According to reports in France, Liverpool are in pole position to sign Houssem Aouar, fans have reacted on Twitter.

Midfield lacking
The Reds are short of numbers in the midfield.
Whilst it may look on paper like we’re well stocked, a number of players in the squad are injury prone.
Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have failed to string together five games between them in recent seasons.
Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson’s injury woes seem to worsen by the year, he missed the second half of last season.
As a result replacing Gini Wijnaldum is essential, he was the one man we could always rely on to play every game.
Liverpool lead Houssem Aouar race
According to David Maddock, Liverpool have wanted Houssem Aouar for around six years.
The Reds boast a formidable scouting team (though Aouar wasn’t a hard talent to spot).
This summer could see us finally get our man.
Le10Sport has claimed that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Houssem Aouar.
Arsenal are also said to be interested in the midfielder but the report states that the Reds won’t have to sell-to-buy the youngster.
A fee of around £30m would allegedly be impossible for Lyon to refuse, likely due to the financial crisis in the French top flight at the moment.
Twitter reacts to Aouar links
Kopites are delighted with the report, some want him signed alongside Saul, not an either-or situation. Either way, we need a midfielder.
