Liverpool are in need of reinforcements up top. Dozens of players have been touted as potential solutions to the problem. This week The Athletic claimed that Liverpool have shortlisted Jarrod Bowen. His signing could be a repeat of the masterstroke move for Andy Robertson.
Jarrod Bowen career
24-year-old Jarrod Bowen began his career with Hereford.
Following the club’s expulsion from the Conference he signed a deal with Hull City.
He made his debut for the Tigers in 2016 and went on to 54 times across 131 games in all competitions.
In January 2020 the versatile forward signed for West Ham. The East London side forked out £18m up front for the Championship star with the deal rising to £25m.
Since moving to the capital he’s netted nine across 53 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool want Jarrod Bowen
This week has thrown up some interesting news.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have shortlisted Jarrod Bowen.
Jürgen Klopp is said to be a massive fan of the West Ham forward.
Furthermore, the recruitment team believe the 24-year-old has massive potential and they admire his versatility.
The player would allegedly provide backup for the likes of Mo Salah initially whilst also increasing competition in the attack.
Andy Robertson reminder
Back in 2017 there were clamours for the Reds to replace Alberto Moreno.
Fans wanted a statement signing, a readymade star who would immediately upgrade the side.
Liverpool signed Andy Robertson from Hull City for £8m.
At the time plenty of Kopites were uninspired, his signing wasn’t particularly exciting.
He’s now arguably the best left back in world football.
Whilst plenty of Kopites aren’t overly enthusiastic about a potential move for ex-Hull star Jarrod Bowen, it’s important to remember the last player we signed who’d spent time with Hull turned out to be a gem.
The recruitment team rarely get it wrong. If they think Bowen has the potential and would be a good fit then we’ve got to trust them. Robbo was a masterstroke, Bowen could be too.
