Paul Robinson on Renato Sanches
Liverpool’s transfer business has been of some interest to an ex-England goalkeeper.
Whilst Paul Robinson is a fan of Renato Sanches he believes that the Reds made a mistake letting Gini Wijnaldum go. The retired keeper told Football Insider:
“You see [Wijnaldum’s] performances and the goals he’s got in the Euros, he’s going to be a real miss for Liverpool.
“I think Sanches can do that job. He’s a top-class player. But you look at Liverpool and you worry that they don’t have the finances to invest.
“I personally think they have missed a real trick by not signing Wijnaldum to a new deal.”
What RTK has to say
Whether letting Gini go was a mistake is something which will be debated for years to come.
The matter could be settled by January depending on how the midfield looks.
Personally, I’m gutted to see him go. However, his departure has opened up room for an exciting new talent to come and capture our hearts.
Maybe that man is Renato Sanches.
