Liverpool are in need of reinforcements in midfield this summer. The Reds are a man down following the departure of Gini Wijnaldum. Jürgen Klopp could turn to Serie A for the solution. Some Liverpool fans are buzzing about links to Mikkel Damsgaard.

Stack the midfield
Gini Wijnaldum has signed for PSG on a free transfer.
The Dutchman became an indispensable member of the Reds’ lineup in his five years at Anfield.
This is due to his perpetual availability, just how reliable he was.
Given that the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can’t be relied upon fitness wise we will have to restock the midfield this summer.
Otherwise we risk an injury crisis leaving us short handed in the middle.
Liverpool want Mikkel Damsgaard
Another new target has been mooted in the press.
We’ve been linked with everybody from Florian Neuhaus to Saul Niguez in recent months.
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool hold an interest in Mikkel Damsgaard.
The versatile 21-year-old impressed for Denmark at Euro 2020.
He bagged two goals and and an assist at the tournament, including a spectacular free kick (which Jordan Pickford should’ve saved).
Liverpool interest in Damsgaard makes sense profile wise.
He is just 21-years-old and bound to improve in future.
Furthermore, Jürgen Klopp values versatility and Damsgaard can play in a number of different roles, operating as an attacking midfielder, centre midfielder, winger and striker in the past season.
