Kalvin Phillips bio

25-year-old centre midfielder Kalvin Phillips came through the ranks at the Leeds United academy.

The Englishman has been an undroppable member of the Whites’ midfield for years now.

Known for his all round game in the middle of the park he is as adept at intercepting the ball as he is picking a pass with it.

This summer has seen him establish himself as a key member of the England squad.

He has put in a number of influential performances during Euro 2020, even bagging an outstanding assist against Croatia.

Liverpool target Kalvin Phillips on move

Last October The Mirror reported that Liverpool are keen on Kalvin Phillips.

The outlet claimed that Liverpool were prepared to battle Spurs for the player’s signature.

At the time a figure of £50m was touted for the midfielder but we can assume that fee has been raised since.

Speaking to The i, Phillips’ agent Kevin Sharp has said:

“Kalvin is happy at Leeds and has no desire to move whatsoever.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool are not going to be able to afford Kalvin Phillips.

He’s an incredibly impressive footballer and he’s only going to get better but we’ll never stump up the necessary cash.

We’d be able to sign Pedri for close to the fee which Leeds United would demand.

We’ll still pray for a miracle, Phillips would be the ideal replacement for Jordan Henderson.
