Liverpool are going to have to add quality to the front line this summer. The Reds are in desperate need of depth with their currently being no effective cover for the starting trio. The door is open for Liverpool to sign Pedro Neto following the Wolves swoop for Trincao.
Liverpool need depth
The attacking trio at Liverpool have no competition, no cover, no depth.
Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri have failed to step up when needed.
Both players are expected to leave the club this summer with their sales needed to raise funds for incoming purchases.
This lack of depth hurt the team badly last season when from January onwards the front line looked leggy and figured out.
Fatigue set in and caused a drastic slide down the table. We need to add quality to the depth of the attack to prevent this from happening again.
Wolves sign Trincao
This weekend saw Wolves bring Trincao in on loan with an option to buy.
It’s safe to say that the move caught everybody off guard.
It was a surprise swoop with the Premier League side snapping up one of the most promising youngsters around before they were even linked.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is typically deployed on the right wing but his mountains of potential indicate he could be switched around in future.
Door open for Liverpool swoop for Pedro Neto
Wolves adding competition to their front line could be significant.
Reported Liverpool target Pedro Neto could be more available following the arrival of Trincao.
Now that the Midlands side have cover for the 22-year-old linked with Liverpool by Goal, the Reds could be free to swoop in for Neto.
However, it may be next summer that the Reds move in for Neto given the nasty knee injury he picked up in April.
