Liverpool have plenty of business to do this summer. Jürgen Klopp needs to reinforce the midfield and attack if he wants to mount a title challenge this season. Recent Liverpool sales indicate that incoming signings can’t be far off.
Liverpool agree Liam Millar sale
21-year-old Canadian international Liam Millar is on his way out.
The versatile forward is set to join Basel in a £1.3m deal which includes a 20% sell-on clause.
The Reds had previously loaned the youngster to Kilmarnock and Charlton Athletic.
Although early indications were that he would be sent on loan again this season Michael Edwards has opted to cash in on an irresistible offer.
Kamil Grabara sold to Copenhagen
One confirmed deal sees a young goalkeeper depart the club.
Liverpool have sold Kamil Grabara to FC Copenhagen.
The Danish side will cough up £3m for the Poland youth international with a 20% sell-on clause agreed upon.
The 22-year-old shot stopper has previously been on loan with AGF and Huddersfield.
Incoming signings pending
The Reds have always operated on a sell-to-buy budget during the Jürgen Klopp reign.
The fact that Michael Edwards is ramping up the departures is a sure sign that signings must be on their way, particularly given that players previously predicted to head out on loan are now leaving permanently.
Liverpool need to sign a midfielder and an attacker.
Therefore we’ll need some more high profile departures than the two above but at least Edwards appears hard at work.
Once we get Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Grujic out the door we could see some serious action.
