We are sure that Liverpool fans will take a keen interest in Switzerland vs Spain in this evening’s Euro 2020 quarter-final tie.
Of course, there is a current Red in either team. Xherdan Shaqiri for the Swiss and Thiago for the Spanish.
This will be enough to peak Scouse interest.
However, there are three more things that Liverpool fans should look out for in the 5pm kick-off.
We have already spoken about Shaqiri and Thiago here, so go take a look at that if it takes your fancy.
Spain’s tricky widemen

With Liverpool in need of some new attacking talent this summer, fans should keep an eye on some Spanish talents to see if they fit the bill.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Mikel Oyarzabal and Dani Olmo both made huge impacts off the bench in the last 16 game against Croatia.
Oyarzabal is 24, while Olmo is 23. Both are the right age for Liverpool to target.
The Real Sociedad man would be a great long-term Mo Salah replacement, while Olmo is a natural No 10 that could play out wide or in centre-midfield for the Reds.
It remains to be seen whether either of them have earned a starting spot, but they will surely get off the bench again if not.
And if they don’t feature, Adama Traore might. We all know that he is worth watching, no matter who you support.
Can Embolo earn a move?

Another player that has impressed this summer is Breel Embolo.
He burst onto the scene at Basel over half a decade ago and has threatened to become a star ever since. However, it just hasn’t quite happened for him.
The 24-year-old has been quietly impressive at Borussia Monchengladbach for the last two seasons and is trying to prove to the world that he is ready to make the step up.
A good performance against top opposition in a huge game may well be enough to convince Liverpool to take a gamble on him.
The big midfield battle

Like in Belgium vs Italy at 8pm, the midfield battle will be key in this game.
Granit Xhaka looks a different player in a Switzerland shirt. He is their captain and inspiration but is suspended for today’s match.
He will likely be replaced in the double pivot by the incredible Denis Zakaria. How he has only played 24 minutes so far at Euro 2020 is beyond us.
He has been linked to Liverpool, although we do not see it happening. The Reds need a No 8, rather than a No 6.
The three men bizarrely keeping Thiago out of the Spain midfield are Sergio Busquets, Koke and Pedri.
The 18-year-old sensation has also been linked to Anfield. He is worth watching even if you are not watching through Merseyside red-tinted glasses.
With Xherdan Shaqiri in the No 10 role for Switzerland and Thiago hoping to get off the bench for Spain, there is plenty of action in the midfield for Liverpool fans to watch out for.
