Last season wasn’t Liverpool’s best, we can all agree on that. The Reds somehow finished third after a disastrous title defence characterised by an unprecedented injury crisis. We need a striker to come in and remedy the situation up top. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Ollie Watkins, Kopites aren’t impressed.

Liverpool need a striker
Last season exposed just how much Liverpool need a striker.
The Reds have been operating with Roberto Firmino as a false nine in recent years.
However, the setup no longer appears to be working for Jürgen Klopp.
The Brazilian had his worst season yet in front of goal last season whilst Sadio Mane also missed a host of chances.
There is too much of a burden on Mo Salah to score our goals and there isn’t enough quality in depth up top.
We need an out and out striker to come in and mop up the half chances we’re getting against deep lying defences.
Liverpool like Ollie Watins
There are dozens of strikers being touted as the solution to the Reds’ problems.
According to Goal, Liverpool like Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old forward joined the Villains from Brentford last summer for a fee of £28m rising to £33m.
In his debut season in the Premier League he netted 14 goals including four against the Reds.
Twitter reaction
Fans aren’t exactly inspired by the links to Ollie Watkins. Given his fee and his return last summer, many believe there are better options out there.
