Liverpool need to sign a striker this summer. The Reds are short of a lethal finisher through the middle and that will have to be remedied before next season. Liverpool could move for Odsonne Edouard now that Leicester City have signed Patson Daka instead.
Liverpool need a striker
For years now the Reds have operated with Roberto Firmino as a false nine.
This has put a lot of pressure on Mo Salah to provide the goals.
Last term the lads weren’t up to the task.
From January onwards the goals dried up and the Reds slipped down the table as a result.
The lack of productivity confirmed the need for a natural striker to be brought in over the summer.
Leicester City to sign Patson Daka
There was one striker who seemed to be ideal for the Reds.
However, he now seems set to join a Premier League rival.
Speaking to Kronen Zeitung Patson Daka confirmed he will be signing for Leicester City.
The fee is believed to be around £25m for the striker who banged in 27 goals for Red Bull Salzburg last term.
Liverpool could swoop for Odsonne Edouard
Ian McGarry previously claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast that Liverpool are interested in Odsonne Edouard.
Since then there has been a number of reports that Leicester were closing in on signing the French youngster in a deal worth £18m.
However, the Foxes have moved for Patson Daka, casting doubt on whether they’ll swoop for the Celtic striker.
Liverpool could capitalise and move for the 23-year-old.
At just £18m he could be a bargain given his age and wealth of top flight experience, he netted 16 goals in 23 starts and three sub appearances last term.
