Liverpool are going to sign a striker this summer, hopefully. The Reds need were dreadful in front of goal from January onwards, highlighting how urgently a forward is needed. Liverpool not signing Odsonne Edouard must mean the Reds have their ideal striker lined up.
Reds need a striker
The Reds’ front three have been together for four years.
The first three years were incredibly successful, fruitful campaigns.
This season saw a dramatic fall off in quality, particularly from January onwards.
The lack of depth in the attack appears to have taken its toll.
Furthermore, opposition defences seem to have figured the lads out.
It is obvious that we need to sign a striker, The Athletic’s Simon Hughes told the Red Agenda Podcast:
“From what I’ve been told, that’s something that Liverpool are looking at in the summer [signing an attacker], the one area they do want to improve on.”
Liverpool pass on Odsonne Edouard
Ian McGarry claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast that Liverpool are interested in Odsonne Edouard.
The striker netted 16 goals in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic this season.
Leicester City now appear set to sign the striker in a deal worth around £18m.
Ideal striker lined up?
Odsonne Edouard at just £18m appears to be incredible value.
Given the Reds were interested in the Frenchman, the club not working harder to sign him at that price should point to another striker being lined up.
The Reds are notorious bargain hunters and this is a bargain. Perhaps there’s another deal already in the works?
