Gini Wijnaldum to PSG
After five years at Anfield Gini Wijnaldum is leaving this summer.
The Dutchman became a club icon during his time at Liverpool.
Rarely missing a Premier League game his reliability in the middle has been vital to the Reds’ success.
His contract with Liverpool expires this summer, Gini Wijnaldum has signed a deal with PSG as a result.
Given the sheer amount of minutes he racked up in the middle signing a successor for Gini has to be a priority for the Reds.
Liverpool make Denis Zakaria decision
There are some players linked with the Reds periodically.
Bild is one of a number of outlets to claim Liverpool interest in Denis Zakaria.
The 24-year-old Swiss midfielder is entering the final year of his contract at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Bild has now reported that Liverpool have decided against signing Denis Zakaria.
This is because the midfielder’s injury record has become cause for concern.
According to Transfermarkt he missed 246 days of action due to a knee injury in 2020.
This summer he has failed to establish himself in the Swiss lineup due to recovering from injury, he’s managed just 24 minutes at the tournament.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool don’t need another injury prone midfielder.
Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are already occupying that role.
We need reliability to replace Gini Wijnaldum, that’s the most important attribute.
