Arsenal pull out of Martin Odegaard chase, Liverpool could swoop in

Liverpool should sign a midfielder this summer. The Reds are in dire need of reinforcements with a critical squad member on his way out. Liverpool could finally bid for a long term target this summer; Arsenal have reportedly pulled out of the Martin Odegaard chase.

Liverpool and Martin Odegaard

Way back when Martin Odegaard was the first footballing sensation on YouTube.

He stunned the footballing world with his performances in the Norwegian top flight at just 15-years-old.

In 2014 Liverpool took Martin Odegaard on trial, he trained with the first team at Melwood.

However, Real Madrid beat the Reds to the midfielder’s signature.

AS in Spain recently reported that Liverpool still hold an interest in Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal out of Martin Odegaard race

The Norwegian playmaker spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates.

Arsenal were thought to be working on a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard.

However, AS has now claimed that the Gunners have backed out of the transfer chase.

The outlet has said that the Norwegian midfielder is determined to fight for his place at Real Madrid.

Liverpool special case?

Although Arsenal have given up on Odegaard because he wants to stay at Madrid, Liverpool could prove a special case.

This is because the Norwegian is a lifelong Reds fan.

Like man in John Arne Riise’s home country, he grew up watching and Liverpool with his parents.

Odegaard may want to fight for a place at Madrid but his love for Liverpool could win out if the Reds follow up on their reported interest.
