Gary Lineker singled out Alexander Isak for praise this week. The Sweden striker is supposedly a Liverpool target.
There’s been a lot of talk around Alexander Isak thanks to his performances for Sweden. That’s despite not actually scoring a goal yet.
But it’s Isak’s all-around game that truly catches the eye. He’s quick, strong, good with his feet and very intelligent. Basically everything you could want in a striker.
The fact he’s doing it at 21 only make it more impressive.
And we know Isak can get goals. He bagged 17 in La Liga last season for Real Sociedad – there’s no doubt about his ability in front of goal.
His talent is certainly making people take notice at the Euros, too. A performance on Friday was enough for Gary Lineker to single out Isak on Twitter.
Lineker on Isak
“Don’t think there’s much doubt that Alexander Isak will attract a lot of attention from clubs across Europe,” Lineker wrote. “Exceptional talent.”
He’d cost around £60m but honestly? That feels like something of a bargain.
We’ve been fans of Isak for a little while now after his exploits for Soceidad. It’s not often you see a 21-year-old with this many tools pull it all together to score consistently in a top league.
In fact, he’d probably have a lot more buzz about him if not for Erling Haaland offering an admittedly slightly better prospect. But Isak is a superstar in waiting.
He’d offer a fine answer to the likes of Haaland, really. If Liverpool can’t go and get Europe’s hottest talent, Isak would be a magnificent way to settle for runner-up.
So we think this is one to watch. Isak truly is an exceptional talent.
