Liverpool are one of three Premier League clubs ‘crazy’ for Alexander Isak, according to reports. The Swede is shining at Euro 2020.
This comes from AS. The Spanish outlet claims Liverpool are the latest Premier League club to express an interest in Alexander Isak.
Arsenal were the first club, followed by Chelsea. Now it appears Liverpool are willing to join the fight for 21-year-old Isak.
The player would almost certainly cost around £60m – his release clause. Real Sociedad have little reason to sell if not for that clause and it looks like an achievable fee for the trio.
Who is Alexander Isak?
We went into detail on this here. But to sum it up, Isak is a 21-year-old striker from Sweden currently playing in La Liga for Real Sociedad.
He’s proving prolific, too. Isak bagged 17 league goals last season, following on from 16 in all competitions the campaign before.
The player is undoubtedly one of the most promising young strikers in Europe right now. We see him as a potential answer to the likes of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland – should Liverpool need such an answer.
Isak is currently playing for Sweden at Euro 2020 and playing well. While he hasn’t found the back of the net yet, his running and intelligent play show the hallmarks of a potential star.

After all, he’s still only 21.
Can the Reds get him?
It’s a tough one. The Athletic claims Liverpool must sell to buy players. The hope to raise around £60m but that would only leave room for Isak and no one else.
The potential is there, then. Liverpool should end up with enough money, though they’d have to give up on signing a midfielder.
Gini Wijnaldum’s exit calls for one. Perhaps they’re happy to back Curtis Jones to step up another level and fill that void, though. In that case, a transfer for Isak is just about possible.
We wouldn’t hold our breath but the opportunity is there.
