With Group E, we have reached the penultimate group in our ‘Players for Liverpool to Watch at Euro 2020’ series.
There are two games on the opening day for Group E today, with Poland facing Slovakia and Spain taking on Sweden.
Like with Groups A, B, C and D, there is no shortage of players that Liverpool fans should keep an eye on.
Thiago

Team: Spain / Liverpool
Age: 30
Position: Midfielder
The obvious place to start is with a current Liverpool superstar.
Thiago showed his class in the back-end of the season with some sensational performances.
He will hope to carry this form into the Euros, where Spain will hope to surprise a few by going deep into the competition.
The 30-year-old’s leadership will be even more vital for Luis Enrique’s side now that captain Sergio Busquets has tested positive for Covid-19.
Pedri

Team: Spain / Barcelona
Age: 18
Position: Midfielder
At the other end of the age spectrum is a player that will hope to partner Thiago in the Spain midfield.
Pedri has been nothing short of sensational since breaking into the Barcelona side last season.
Liverpool are said to be keen on securing his services, with the Mirror even claiming that they had made contact with his representatives.
If Pedri becomes a household name during the tournament, Liverpool could well decide to pay his £70m release clause to try and get him out of Camp Nou.
Kacper Kozłowski

Team: Poland / Pogon Szczecin
Age: 17
Position: Midfielder
The fact that Kacper Kozlowski is the youngest player at Euro 2020 tells you all you need to know: he is a great talent.
Kozlowski made 20 appearances in the Polish top division last season and has been rewarded with three caps for his national team and a spot in the Euro 2020 squad.
The 17-year-old has been given the No 6 shirt, which could be an indication that Paulo Sousa sees a big role for him this summer.
Milan Skriniar

Team: Slovakia / Internazionale
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Slovakia are not a side that are blessed with a plethora of talented youngsters. Or talented older players either for that matter.
Milan Skriniar is their undoubted best player.
The signing of Ibrahima Konate means that Liverpool will not be targetting the Inter star this summer.
However, Kopites should still keep an eye on someone that has long been linked to top Premier League clubs.
Alexander Isak

Team: Sweden / Real Sociedad
Age: 21
Position: Striker
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury could have ruined Sweden’s hopes of a good Euro 2020 campaign.
Fortunately for them, they have a top young striker ready to fill his boots.
Alexander Isak scored 17 La Liga goals last season.
He failed to deliver on his early potential at Borussia Dortmund. However, his move to Spain has reignited his fledgling career.
With Liverpool in need of a striker, the 21-year-old is well worth a look.
