Liverpool are already hard at work sorting out the ins and outs for next season. The Reds will be keeping an eye on which youngsters have made the grade and who needs more experience. With the Reds reportedly set to loan Caoimhin Kelleher we could see Marcelo Pitaluga promoted to third choice at Liverpool.
Adrian to sign a new contract
This summer there are a few contracts expiring at the club.
Gini Wijnaldum is far and away the most important deal to come to its conclusion.
In the senior squad there is also Adrian whose contract is expiring.
According to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard will be given a new deal despite reports linking the keeper with a return to Real Betis.
The report states that he will be the number two in the first team again with the club looking to loan out Caoimhin Kelleher.
The Reds allegedly see regular first team minutes as a vital next step in the young Irishman’s development.
Marcelo Pitaluga Liverpool promotion?
This would leave the third choice spot up for grabs.
Marcelo Pitaluga could well be up for a promotion at Liverpool.
The Brazilian wonderkid was signed from Fluminense last summer.
The 18-year-old was brought in as heir to Alisson Becker having trained with the Reds keeper during lockdown.
Since then he’s impressed for the U23s but he picked up an unfortunate injury in February.
If we don’t bring in another goalkeeper then we may well see the teenager elevated to that third choice role, it would be a big show of faith in the young man.
