Report: Liverpool have sign Fatawu Issahaku and will loan him to Sporting

Liverpool are always on the lookout for the next best thing. The Reds have been stacking the academy with wonderkids in recent years and the youth ranks have been impressing as a result. According to various reports, Liverpool have agreed to sign Fatawu Issahaku and will immediately loan him to Sporting in Portugal.

Liverpool youth signings

The Reds have developed a knack for snapping up top talents in recent seasons.

Mateusz Musialowski has been lighting up the U18s this term following his switch from SMS Lodz last summer.

The teenager was signed in the same window as Germany youth captain Melkamu Frauendorf and heir to Alisson, Marcelo Pitaluga.

In January we saw the arrival of the prodigious Kaide Gordon, the former Wayne Rooney protege has been a standout performer since heading to Merseyside.

Liverpool to buy and loan Fatawu Issahaku

This summer could see another exciting talent signed.

According to African football journalist Saddick Adams, Liverpool have agreed to sign Fatawu Issahaku from Steadfast FC.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £1.5m.

According to Adams, the player was close to joining Bayer Leverkusen before the Reds stole ahead.

The youngster was voted MVP of the last U20 AFCON tournament.

JOY FM in Ghana have since claimed that the young forward will immediately be sent to Portuguese champions Sporting on loan.

This is because post Brexit laws prevent U18s being signed from abroad, the thinking is that he’ll hopefully earn enough points at Sporting to warrant a UK work permit when he’s 18-years-old.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing another wonderkid is always great news.

This kid looks like mustard from the few clips we’ve seen of him.

Fingers crossed his work permit issues are solved by the year in Portugal.
