Liverpool and Martin Odegaard

Many will remember when Martin Odegaard first burst onto the scene.

The Norwegian playmaker was tearing apart the Norwegian top flight when he was just 15-years-old.

A host of European clubs were fighting for his signature, Liverpool even had Martin Odegaard train with the Reds’ first team in 2014.

The wonderkid ended up at Real Madrid instead.

He has since been sent on a series of loans with varying degrees of success.

Odegaard was a standout performer for Real Sociedad, prompting Madrid to cut his two year loan short.

He then failed to earn a regular spot in Los Blancos’ starting XI, leading to Arsenal taking him on loan in January.

Real Madrid could sell Martin Odegaard

There is still uncertainty surrounding the youngster’s future.

According to AS in Spain, Real Madrid are undecided on Martin Odegaard.

The Spanish giants may well sell the 22-year-old playmaker with some seeing his exit as a way to raise much needed funds.

Liverpool hopes boosted

The same outlet reported recently that Liverpool are interested in Martin Odegaard.

The Reds are going to have to sign a midfielder this summer and it’s no secret that the club have been keen on Odegaard for some time now.

Should Madrid want to sell him then we could well be in prime position given that Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Europa League or Champions League. Anfield is much more tempting prospect.
