Liverpool transfer plans and Youri Tielemans

There are three positions which need strengthening this summer.

Jürgen Klopp needs to bring in a centre back to add some certainty to a shaky back line.

The boss also needs to sign a striker in order to fix the lack of attacking output we’ve seen since the turn of the New Year.

The centre of midfield also needs addressing given that Gini Wijnaldum’s five-year stay at the club is at an end.

The Dutchman is an undroppable presence in the middle of the park and as a result finding a successor for him is of the utmost importance, that’s where Tielemans comes in.

Liverpool linked with Youri Tielemans

This week saw another potential target touted.

Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad reported that Liverpool are interested in Youri Tielemans.

The newspaper claimed that the Leicester City midfielder has made the Reds’ shortlist of targets after yet another impressive season.

Tielemans backed for exit

Suggestions that the midfielder could be on the move have been backed by a Belgian pundit.

Former Manchester City keeper Geert De Vlieger has told Play Sports:

“Tielemans is going to leave Leicester City anyway.

“If not this year, then next year. Leicester should hope that he stays another year, but Youri is now so far that he is ready for an absolute top club.”

What RTK has to say

Not that Leicester aren’t a strong side but they aren’t competing for European glory at the moment.

Liverpool can offer Youri Tielemans a shot at the biggest prizes in world football.

If the 24-year-old is going to head to a big club in the near future we need to put ourselves front of the queue.
