Gini Wijnaldum leaving

This summer there will be a gaping hole left in the Reds’ midfield.

Gini Wijnaldum, the Liverpool legend, will be ending his five-year stay at the club.

The Dutchman’s contract expires in the summer and the club have been unable to tie him down to fresh terms.

The thinking is that the Reds are unwilling to give out a lucrative contract to a player in his 30s.

Given that he has played more minutes than anybody else in Klopp’s midfield he will take some replacing.

Liverpool target Rodrigo De Paul update

The Reds are being linked with all and sundry when it comes to sourcing a successor for Gini.

Il Milanista have claimed Liverpool are on the front row for signing Rodrigo De Paul.

Meanwhile Tutto Udinese have reported that the midfielder is available for £42m.

Interest in the playmaker is high and the club have now admitted they can’t keep ahold of him, club director Pierpaolo Marino told DAZN (via Football Italia):

“Obviously, he is a player whose name is on everyone’s lips

“We have the desire and strength to keep him, but if an opportunity he can’t refuse arrives, we couldn’t hold him back.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Rodrigo De Paul would be exciting, his vision and range of passing are a joy to behold.

Whether or not the reported interest is concrete remains to be seen.

We’ll be keeping our ears to the ground as we expect movement in the near future.
