Liverpool target Eduardo Camavinga has price set; good news for Reds

Liverpool need to add a midfielder to the squad this summer. The Reds are going to lose one of their most important players and he’ll need replacement. However, a new development could see the club tempted to wait a year. Liverpool target Eduardo Camavinga has had his price set and it’s good news for the Reds.

Who is Eduardo Camavinga?

18-year-old French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga plays in the middle for Rennes.

The teenager has been breaking all sorts of records in the past few years, he established himself in the first team aged just 16-years-old.

Since then he’s also been called up to the France senior side, netting for his country at just 17-years-old, making him the youngest player to do so in over a century.

The teenager has been a mainstay of the Rennes midfield this season, starting 28 games and making seven sub appearances.

Unsurprisingly, the wonderkid is attracting interest from throughout Europe.

His domineering performances in the middle have led to comparisons with Patrick Vieira.

The Express reported a month ago that Liverpool are interested in Eduardo Camavinga, along with every other elite club.

There’s been an update in the player’s availability: according to RMC Sport in France, Rennes want €100m (£86.6m) for the teenager this summer.

What RTK has to say

This is great news for Liverpool.

Nobody is going to pay that amount of money for a player out of contract next summer.

This means that he should be available for a free transfer in 2022, giving Liverpool a boost in the Eduardo Camavinga race.

We can’t compete on transfer fees but if that barrier is removed then we could be in with a shot of convincing him.
