Liverpool are set for something of a transition this summer. The Reds have plenty of deadwood to shift and will need to bring in some reliable replacements. According to reports in Germany, Liverpool star Ozan Kabak is wanted by Leicester City.
Ozan Kabak at Liverpool
This season Jürgen Klopp lost every one of his senior centre backs to injury.
As a result the Reds had to act in the winter transfer window to remedy the situation.
Liverpool signed Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke and Ben Davies was brought in from Preston.
The latter has failed to make a single appearance for the club since his February switch.
The former had a shaky start to life as a Red but he grew with confidence every week before he too succumbed to injury.
Ozan Kabak wanted by Leicester City
The Reds’ deal for the Turkish centre back included an £18m option to buy him in the summer.
According to Sport 1’s Patrick Berger, Liverpool won’t be exercising the option to sign the youngster.
As a result Ozan Kabak is believed to be wanted by Leicester City.
RB Leipzig are also believed to be interested in the defender.
What RTK has to say
This is a shame, we’d just written a song for him and everything.
However, we can understand the decision not to keep him on.
He doesn’t have the pace for the Reds’ high line.
Furthermore, Liverpool have allegedly sealed a deal to sign Ibrahima Konate.
The Frenchman is apparently seen as the preferred target, we mustn’t have the cash to sign both.
