Centre back crisis
There’s no getting away from how awful the Reds’ luck was this year.
Jürgen Klopp lost every single senior centre back to injury this season.
Then he started losing the backups too and the backup’s backups started to drop out.
Although Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies arrived to plug the gaps in the winter window many expect the club to bring in another defender over the summer.
There are serious question marks over the futures of Ozan Kabak, Ben Davies and Joel Matip, meaning at least one centre back should be arriving.
Liverpool to sign Ibrahima Konate
This summer is surely going to see Liverpool sign Ibrahima Konate.
Reports have been circulating for months about the Reds’ interest.
Now the interest appears to have become concrete with reliable reporters claiming the deal is as good as done.
Guido Schäfer in Germany has claimed that the Reds have come to an agreement with the player and will pay Leipzig around £34.5m plus bonuses.
Meanwhile Fabrizio Romano has reported that the player will sign a five-year-deal with the Reds in the near future.
