Liverpool are set to make some additions to the squad over the summer. The Reds need to bring in a centre back, centre midfielder and a striker. We appear to be closing in on our first signing and he’ll be keen to reunite with a current Reds star. Reported Liverpool target Ibrahima Konate has named Naby Keita as the best he’s ever played with.
Naby Keita at Liverpool
In the summer of 2017 Liverpool agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig for £48m plus a premium.
The Guinean joined the Reds the following summer.
Since he’s arrived on Merseyside the midfielder has frustrated Kopites no end.
He regularly shows us bursts of supreme quality but his persistent fitness issues have kept him from living up to his price tag.
Liverpool to sign Ibrahima Konate
The Athletic reported this week that Liverpool are closing in on Ibrahima Konate, stating the club will pay his €41m (£35m) release clause.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Reds will tie him down to a five-year-deal and he has already completed his medical checks.
As a result the Reds will reportedly not sign Ozan Kabak permanently.
Ibrahima Konate on Naby Keita
The French defender will keen to link up with his former Leipzig teammate.
Speaking to Youtube channel Oh My Goal, Ibrahima Konate said Naby Keita (along with Timo Werner) is the best player he’s ever played with:
“Naby Keita surprised me because of his size.
“He wasn’t tall, not muscly but technically he was a step ahead, in passes and duels. He surprised me!”
What RTK has to say
We can’t wait for Liverpool to lineup with Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita next season.
Fingers crossed Nabs sorts his fitness out so he can live up to the hype.
Konate should prove a revelation if he is as good as everybody is telling us.
