Liverpool are set for a pretty unpredictable summer transfer window. The Reds are in dire need of reinforcements and they’ll have to sell some players to raise the money for them. David James has urged Liverpool to cash in on Mo Salah this summer.

Liverpool transfer window priorities

This summer should be a busy one for Michael Edwards.

There are a number of priorities for the club to address.

We need to move on some of the deadwood at the club; we’ve got too many expensive and chronically injured players on the books.

Then it’s all about incoming transfers.

Liverpool need a centre back to address the injury crisis of this season.

The Reds will also have to sign a replacement for the outgoing Gini Wijnaldum.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Finally we need a lethal forward to ease the burden on Mo Salah.

David James on Mo Salah

Some believe that an extensive rebuild is needed after a difficult campaign.

David James has said that Liverpool should cash in on Mo Salah in order to fund some much needed signings. The ex-Red told Stadium Astro:

“The idea of them spending mega millions is very unlikely, I think they’re going to have to shift players out

“In my eyes, he might be second in the Golden Boot running, but I think Liverpool play better without Salah.

‘And the opportunity for Liverpool to cash in on Salah, Jota naturally fits into that front three, Firmino gets more freedom arguably, and Liverpool have a new dynamic up front rather than what seems to be a reliance on Salah’s goals.”

What RTK has to say

This only makes sense if we are going to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Anything else would be a massive step down for the Reds.

Mo Salah is a club legend, we can’t move him on without a plan to replace him adequately.
