Liverpool kept their top four hopes alive in dramatic fashion this weekend. The Reds eked out a win at West Brom with one of the most bizarre goals you’re likely to see. Danny Murphy has heaped praise on Alisson for his goal against West Brom.

West Brom 1-2 Liverpool
The Reds arrived at the Hawthorns knowing that a top four finish meant winning every one of their remaining games.
Although Liverpool’s run in looks favourable we’ve struggled against teams in the bottom half this season.
We struggled again at the weekend; the game got off to a poor start with Hal Robson Kanu finishing well after Rhys Williams’ inexperience showed.
Shortly after the half hour mark Mo Salah netted instinctively when the ball broke to him on the edge of the box.
Thereafter the Reds dominated with Thiago running the show in the midfield.
The Baggies had a goal disallowed in the second half, rightly so.
It looked as though Big Sam was holding on for a point until Alisson Becker scored the winning goal against West Brom in the final seconds of the game, netting a superlative header.
Danny Murphy on Alisson Becker
Naturally the goal caused quite a commotion in the football world.
It was a goal of great importance in the race for the top four but also the fact it was scored by Ali has led to widespread bewilderment.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Danny Murphy praised Alisson Becker for the goal against West Brom, telling the show:
“Let’s be honest what a goal, brilliant header, technically perfect.
“When do you ever see a keeper score a decent header, you don’t. That’s as good as it gets. That’s Shearer like.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool fans will be telling their grandkids about this one.
It is a goal which will be etched indelibly into the club lore.
After everything that man has been through this year, that goal was emotional for all involved.
