Wijnaldum exit

Liverpool signed Gini Wijnaldum in 2016 and in the five years since he’s become an undroppable member of the side.

Nobody has played more minutes in Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool midfield since 2016 than Gini Wijnaldum.

Despite his obvious importance the club have been unable to agree to terms on a new deal for the Dutchman.

He wants a pay hike which is understandable but give that he’s heading into his 30s the club are unwilling to acquiesce.

We need to sign a replacement, we must’ve learned our lesson from not replacing Dejan Lovren last summer.

Liverpool bid for Yves Bissouma

Whilst there have been plenty names touted as potential successors to Gini Wijnaldum one man appears to be the priority.

Liverpool want Yves Bissouma and according to The Anfield Wrap, the club have already made an approach with Rob Gutman telling their podcast:

“Yves Bissouma is a top target for Liverpool this summer and Liverpool have already tantalised Brighton with a €40m (£35m) bid.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Yves Bissouma would be a good move.

The lad is just 24-years-old and he already has plenty of Premier League experience.

The midfielder terrored us at Brighton this season, he’d make a stellar replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.
