Liverpool are going to have to make some serious changes to the squad over the summer. The Reds have been torrid in the second half of this season and we can’t ignore the need for sweeping alterations. Liverpool should consider a swoop for Raphinha at Leeds United, using Harry Wilson as a makeweight.
Front three reshuffle
The Reds need to liven up the attack over the summer.
Liverpool’s front three have been together, relatively unchallenged, since 2017.
The addition of Diogo Jota over the summer threatened to disrupt the natural order, however, a long term injury has prevented the Portugal star from making the impact he’d have hoped for.
Since we entered 2021 the front three have been in shocking form.
Only Mo Salah can come away with his pride somewhat intact.
Sadio Mane has been missing chance after golden chance whilst Roberto Firmino has also been wasteful and ineffective.
Signing a new forward over the summer seems an inevitability at this point with a reshuffle up top vital to keeping us fresh for next season.
The current attacking lineup has been figured out by opposition defences, it’s time for something new.
Liverpool should swoop for Raphinha
Just which position the Reds will strengthen is up in the air.
We could sign a number 9 to replace Bobby or we could bring in a winger and shift Mo Salah into a central role.
Liverpool should consider a move for Raphinha at Leeds United.
Juve Live have previously reported on the Reds’ interest in the Brazilian.
His debut season in the Premier League has been an impressive one, the Yorkshire side signed him from Rennes for £17m at the start of the season.
This term he’s scored six and assisted six for Leeds, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.17 along the way.
He would be an ideal fit at Anfield given his versatility, he’s able to play on either wing, as well as his direct approach, dribbling ability and eye for a pass.
Harry Wilson makeweight
Liverpool are going to have to move on a host of players this summer and we may as well use some of them as makeweights.
It is expected that Harry Wilson will depart when the season ends.
The 24-year-old winger has spent the season on loan at Cardiff City and he’s once again impressed in the Championship, recently netting a superlative hat-trick.
Liverpool should consider using Harry Wilson in any Raphinha deal with Leeds United.
The Yorkshire side will need a winger to replace the Brazilian and with another impressive senior campaign under his belt the Welshman could be the man – his free kicks alone would be worth it for Marcelo Bielsa.
