Achraf Hakimi profile

22-year-old Achraf Hakimi was born in Madrid to Moroccan parents.

The youngster joined the Real Madrid academy, La Fabrica, in 2006.

He progressed through the ranks and in 2017 found himself promoted to the first team at the Bernabeu, enlisted as backup to Dani Carvajal.

A year later he was sent on a two year loan to Borussia Dortmund and it was in Germany where he caught the eye.

In his second season in the Bundesliga he notched 10 assists and five goals for Dortmund, a constant threat down the right with Jadon Sancho.

In 2020 the Moroccan made a permanent switch to Inter Milan with the Serie A side coughing up around £36m for his signature.

Liverpool should swoop for Achraf Hakimi

There is thought to be plenty of interest in the defender this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with the right back in the past with The Express reporting on the Gunners’ interest.

Julian Nagelsmann is set to make the switch from Leipzig to Bayern Munich this summer and according to journalist Manuel Bonke, the youthful gaffer is hoping to bring Hakimi to the Allianz.

Liverpool should join the hunt for Achraf Hakimi.

At just 22-years-old he has plenty of time to improve and he has all of the qualities to be a Jürgen Klopp full back: his work rate is up to scratch, as his eye for a pass and ability to ghost past the opposition.

He provides a goal threat with his marauding runs into the opposition box and he is capable of playing on either side of the defence as well as operating as a wide midfielder.

Trigger Trent Alexander-Arnold switch

For years now people have spoken about Trent making a natural transition into midfield.

Given Gini Wijnaldum’s upcoming departure now could be the time for the move.

Signing Achraf Hakimi could help us in replacing Gini by freeing up our Scouser to take up the Dutchman’s role in the middle.

There are few right backs in the world good enough for us to bring in to trigger Trent’s move into the middle, Hakimi could well be the one to do it.
