Liverpool need to sign a striker this summer. The Reds are in dire need of a lethal finisher ahead of next season with this campaign blighted by a lack of goals, a lack of finishing ability. The chances have been there in recent games but they’ve gone begging. According to Tuttosport in Italy, Liverpool want to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino.
If there’s one thing which has characterised Jürgen Klopp’s reign as Liverpool manager it is goals.
The Reds haven’t always been defensively sound under the German but they’ve always known where the net is.
That is why this season has come as such a shock with the attacking trio consistently letting us down.
Since the turn of the year the forwards have been in wasteful form, consistently squandering chances and we’ve been dropping points as a result.

This hasn’t gone unnoticed at the club with The Athletic’s Simon Hughes reporting that signing a forward is a priority.
Liverpool linked with Andrea Belotti
Kylian Mbappe has been the name on every Kopite’s lips for the past few years.
Despite the Frenchman being the dream signing there are always new targets to talk about.
According to Tuttosport in Italy, Liverpool are interested in signing Andrea Belotti.
The 27-year-old Italian striker has been undroppable for Torino since arriving from Palermo in 2015.
The report states that Torino are already looking at signing Joao Pedro from Cagliari to replace Belotti should the forward be snapped up.
The Reds aren’t the only team in the chase with Manchester United also named as potential suitors.
Andrea Belotti stats and praise
There was a time when Andrea Belotti was the next best thing.
Once a young striker dominant in the air he was linked with all and sundry before his move to Torino.
This season he has netted 12 in 29 games in the league, assisting six along the way.
Last term he managed 16 goals and three assists in 36 appearances.
In total he’s scored an impressive 104 goals in 222 games for the Italian side.
Fabio Capello is a big fan of the forward, once labelling him as ‘probably better than Gabriel Batistuta.’
What RTK has to say
Liverpool moving for Andrea Belotti wouldn’t be the most inspiring of signings.
Though, we have full trust in the recruitment team – if they have seen something in him then we believe he’ll be the right buy.
We just expect whoever comes in to be younger, otherwise a 27-year-old striker arriving should be netting 20 goals a season before joining the Reds.
This one sounds like it could well just be paper talk but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any further information.
